Work Placement 1 (11/2/2020)
This is the first day of work replacement. There are a group of 4, which is 4 of us having this work
replacement module. Our client would be IKII, a brand of smart luggage. We went for a meeting at
Sunway Geo (IkII office). The founder, Jacky and his partner, Blake gave us some short introduction
and conversation about the brand and what we are going to do. We were briefed with 4 projects to
do at the moment :

1. Video shooting for the luggage features (systems)
2. Propose our video shooting ideas 
3. Create a sticker placement contest in social media for brand awareness 
4. A product that is related to IKII as merchandise (exp: a portable pillow with an eye mask)

Therefore, each of us started to think of video shooting ideas for the luggage. I’ve proposed an idea
of making all videos into a series of content, which means it’s by series basis. 1 series will contain 3
videos, a few photos, with a hashtag tagline. And they may be able to post into their Instagram feed
based on the theme of the series. Here’s the rough idea on the flow of series that I proposed :

However, the partners of IKII changed their mind again on the video shooting content. We are

required to shoot short videos (3-5 seconds) to mainly focus on the features of luggage only. Hence,
my teammates and I brainstorm and discuss the ideas of short videos. Here are the ideas of the
short video to feature their systems :

1. The special systems of the luggage include:

2. Brake system - a brake lock to prevent luggage slip away
3. Alarm security - if the luggage left a distance with the owner, there will be alarm alerts
4. Flexibility - the quality of IKII luggage can be bend and step due to the flexibility
5. Smart weight - weight can be measured using phone display
6. Luggage wheels - using high-quality wheels same brand as RIMOWA
7. Waterproof - the surface of luggage is waterproof
8. Anti-scratch - they have a luggage cover that anti-scratch
9. Smart lock - using Bluetooth to lock the luggage 

But, on the same day, my teammates and I found out and realized that the task we need to do is too
much within the timeline. Therefore, we came out with a proposal on things we plan to do, following
the timeline we have. In conclusion, we decided to propose and do 2 projects, which is a short video
shooting for the features of luggage and a giveaway contest on social media. We arranged the
timeline of the task we proposed and scheduled a meeting with IKII partners.

What I feel from the client on the first day is they do not have a proper place for working. Also, the

partners of IKII do not have a plan of what they want to do, which is that they want everything they
feel interesting. Although I gave some suggestions of the social media parts, which I feel is not
suitable for what they wanted to express, they seem to not accept people’s suggestions. Therefore,
I think what needs to be improved from the client, IKII; First, is the planning of their branding.
Second, is their timeline planning and also assumptions. 


Conclusion of today, I’ve learned that communication is very important among people. We need to
reflect the issue that we faced on the company because they might assume you to do everything
they expected within a tight timeline as we are not in an internship program but just a work
replacement.
