Answer:

CV is like a window for us to apply for jobs. However, there are key points that we need to pay attention to as only a good CV will grab employers' attention. It sells our strongest skills and accomplishments and tells the employers that we are a match for the position or project. Therefore, we need to pay attention to creating a good CV and learn the mistakes of an unprofessional CV.

1st CV mistakes
kirusu_stein1996@gmail.com” email, is not a professional email. It may lead the employers to feel that you are not professional or ready for the job. Instead, it should come with a working email to show your professionalism. Besides, a professional email allows us to seperate working email and personal email.

In the CV, Susan Wong mentioned that she is a multi-talented graphic designer. However, the skills she wrote at the design software part is limited with 3 software only. Instead, she should add all the software skills related to the design that she has in the CV.

Besides, there is too much word repetition in the professional experience category on the CV. The words are “developed” and “participated”. It will let the employer lose interest in reading the CV and will feel bored. Therefore, it is better to find synonyms or words that can replace it to make sure the words used in the CV are not overused and repeated.

There are grammar mistakes and spelling mistakes in the 1st CV too. For instance, the word “artwrk” which these mistakes will let the employer feel that you are not professional and careless. Thus, it is important to have spelling checking and double-check of the CV before sending it to the employer.

Other than that, the interest section in the CV is not related to design career. Therefore, it is unnecessary to put interest in the CV. Instead, the interest that input in the CV should be related to design.

2nd CV mistakes
In the 2nd CV, there are repeated sentences and points that make the introduction too wordy. The sentence is “six years of experience in this field”.

Besides, it is unnecessary to mention that you have “6 years” of experience as this will make the employer doubt your ability or have higher expectations of you. Instead, be modest is a better action.

In the contacts part, it is unnecessary to put home phone numbers, Facebook and Twitter. Instead, mobile phone numbers should be input in the CV.

As for the education part, SPM and PMR result is not related to the design field. It is unnecessary to put inside the CV. However, the diploma or degree education should be put in the CV.

Other than that, the curricular experience is also unnecessary to put in CV as it is not related to the design field. Meanwhile, it is better to replace it with the awards and achievements that you’ve gained which are related to the design field.
